Concluyó recientemente con mucho éxito el proyecto MEJORAMIENTO DE LAS CONDICIONES
DE AGUA Y SANEAMIENTO AMBIENTAL EN EL BARRIO JUANA SALTITOPA

Más de 1,500 familias serán beneficiadas con la construcción de un acueducto en los barrios de Nuevo Renacer, Playa Oeste y El Javillar del municipio San Felipe, de Puerto Plata, cuyo costo asciende a cinco millones de pesos.

Proyecto que construirá el Banco Nacional de Fomento de la Vivienda y La Producción (BNV) a finales de febrero de 2010, fecha en que concluye la temporada de béisbol invernal.

ORIGIN:

The Dominican Institute for Integral Development, Inc. (Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral, IDDI) was created in 1984 by a group of eleven professionals who understood that it was not recomendable to focus exclusively on resolving one aspect of the existing problems in our country to the detriment of the whole, but rather to adopt programs with a broader scope to the benefit of the entire participating population. At the same time, this orientation was complemented with the recognition that every human being has the right to decide his/her own future and that therefore it was necessary to transfer to them the required financial, educational, material and organizational resources and skills so that the population can make the necessary decisions and take the corresponding actions regarding their own development and future. Keeping this in mind, the founders created IDDI and based the guiding principles of the organization on the concept of participatory integral development.

El Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral (IDDI) ha superado los RD$300 millones anuales de inversión en obras de interés social en 18 provincias del país.

En el 2007 el IDDI destinó 206 millones en la ejecución de proyectos sociales dirigidos al desarrollo de poblaciones vulnerables, así como a la integración comunitaria, mientras que en el primer semestre del 2008 ya ha destinado 110 millones en planes de Salud, vivienda, educación, medio ambiente, desarrollo barrial, microcrédito, artesanía, y medio ambiente.
